How I Started My Business Without a Business Idea

Host SigrunPublished Updated 14 min listen2 min read

Many businesses are born because an entrepreneur has a dream. Some people are lucky enough to have a very clear idea of what business they want to run. They already know how they will attract their ideal clients and generate income. Other people simply know that they want to run their own business, and plan to take care of the details later.

I always wanted to have my own business, and to enjoy the financial and lifestyle freedom that provides, but I was not always an entrepreneur. I was an employee for a long time, and I changed careers more than once.

While it may seem like my business was an overnight success, in reality, it was years in the making. It took time, and learning, for me to find my passion and discover what I wanted to achieve. I had to cycle through several ideas before I found my path and discovered what I was best at - and what I loved to do.

It took many years for me to develop the courage to start a business, and several more years to figure out what I wanted it to be. Even in that time, I have made changes based on new discoveries and insights. In this episode of The Sigrun Show, I share how I started my business without a clear idea of how it would look, and the pivots I’ve made throughout my career journey as my business has grown and evolved.

I knew it would take time - but it was only a matter of time. - Sigrun
